Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.

A man was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and subsequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is crucial that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be unsafe.

"These types of products being offered, usually online, have undergone no and there can be no assurance about their safety.

"You merely do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not know the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
